The unpretentious, and modestly-sized, 3-star Sempione Hotel not only offers a great location on via Nazionale (just steps from San Lorenzo Market), but also a warm welcome and friendly ambience. A relatively small hotel with only 32 guestrooms, the Sempione is situated in the heart of Florence, no more than 100 metres from Santa Maria Novella railway station. Tastefully decorated throughout, this excellent tourist class hotel also offers a small bar, an internet corner (payable) and a pleasantly cosy breakfast room. All accommodation includes private bathroom, direct dial telephone, colour satellite TV, safety deposit box, mini bar, air-conditioning and hairdryer.

As of July 2011 Florence is introducing a new city tax to be paid by the guest to the hotel directly prior to their departure. This will be charged up to a maximum of 10 days, per person per day (excluding children under 10 years old). The tax rate ranges from € 1.00 per day for a 1 star hotel to € 5.00 per day for 5 star hotels.
