Friendly hotel run by the Viti family - Mrs Viti is a native English speaker and is a one-woman tourist office offering free help and information to all guests. While the hotel itself has been recently renovated, the building is 17th century and is centrally located near the renaissance church of San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapels. Rooms are of a high standard with private bathrooms, direct dial telephones, satellite TV, air conditioning and highly sound proofed windows. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available. The Hotel Nuova Italia is a great example of a home-away-from-home hotel.

As of July 2011 Florence is introducing a new city tax to be paid by the guest to the hotel directly prior to their departure. This will be charged up to a maximum of 10 days, per person per day (excluding children under 10 years old). The tax rate ranges from € 1.00 per day for a 1 star hotel to € 5.00 per day for 5 star hotels.
